Pain In Your Feet Holding You Back? What You Can Do About It

by Elijah Turner

When you have pain in your feet, it can be a problem. You may not feel well enough to do what you normally would be doing because your feet may be hurting you too badly. It can hold you back from doing a lot of things and it can slow you down. This can put a damper on your day to day activities and can put extra stress on you in your work life and your personal life. If you have pain in your feet, you need to start doing something about it before it worsens. Read on for a few things you may be able to do to help ease your pain.

Go To The Podiatrist

The first thing you should do is go to the podiatrist. You should seek medical attention about your foot pain and get a proper diagnosis so proper treatment can begin as well. Make an appointment with the podiatrist to get to the bottom of your foot pain. A podiatrist should be seen over your regular physician, as a podiatrist is a specialist in this area and will be able to better diagnose your foot issue.

Change Your Shoes

Your shoes may be the issue causing your foot problems. If you are feeling pain in your feet after a long day, it may be because of the footwear you've been choosing to wear. If you wear high heels, be sure your heels are kept low (under 2 inches) and have support for your arches. If your feet hurt after working out or running, try updating your tennis shoes, as your old ones may be so worn that they are no longer supporting your feet. Make sure your shoes offer proper support for your heels, arches, and ankles.

Rest Your Feet

If your feet are hurting you, you should rest your feet when you can. Put your feet up and allow them to relax. If they are swollen, elevating your feet can help. Soaking tired feet in a small foot bath with some Epsom salts in it can help your feet as well. The Epsom salts can get rid of toxins in the feet. Try not to overdo it when you're at home, and stay off of your feet as much as you can to give them a break.

If you have pain in your feet, give them a break and allow yourself some rest. Taking an over-the-counter pain reliever may also help ease pain as well. Make an appointment with a podiatrist about your foot pain to have it treated properly so you can go back to living your life without foot pain.
